Christine Deng
Chair of Social, Humanitarian and Cultural Committee
Born and raised in New Zealand of Chinese descent, currently studying in the UK, Christine is an incoming 3rd year at the London School of Economics (LSE) pursuing BSc. International Relations.
Her participation in her first MUN conference, New Zealand MUN (NZMUN), was the underlying reason behind her decision to study international relations. Her resolve to pursue a diplomatic career consolidated after she represented NZ at Harvard and Yale MUN in 2015. Taking MUN on a university level, she participated in 8 conferences in the last two years winning 5 awards, including; ‘Diplomacy Award’ at WorldMUN 2017, ‘Best Delegate’ at Cambridge MUN 2016, and ‘Commendation Award’ at Oxford MUN 2016. She chaired the European Council at LSE YouthMUN 2016 and was a Crisis Analyst at LSEMUN 2017. In addition, she serves as the President of United Nations Society 2016/17 at LSE, with the duty of supervising all directorships and social activities. Professionally, she has attained an ATCL Diploma in Communication Skills (Public Speaking) from Trinity College London and was a Debating Mentor for young students from London neighborhoods.
Aside from MUN, she enjoys playing classical and contemporary music on the piano and dancing.
